Important Update Relating to the CPD Programme

The HPCSA would like to take this opportunity to thank to all practitioners for being CPD compliant. Practitioners who are not compliant still have an opportunity to rectify their CPD status.

As indicated on previous communications, all CPD statuses have been updated to align with the amended CPD rules. All evidence provided that are currently contributing to current CPD compliance are aligned to 12 months cycle.

All submitted CPD information, either by the service provider or the practitioner, has been received and no need to resubmit or submit repeated enquiries on the issue. The practitioner’s statuses will be updated as the HPCSA confirms the submissions. No practitioner will be prejudiced on the issue.

Reminder
  • The actual annual number of CPD points required to be compliant shall be aligned to 12 months cycle of CPD programme. For example, if a practitioner is required to annually maintain a minimum of 30 CPD points (25 clinical and 5 ethical), only indicated is required to be CPD compliant. Click here to view the CPD requirements.
  • Each CPD point is valid for 12 months from the date on which the activity took place.
