The Professional Board for Occupational Therapy, Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics and Arts Therapy (OCP) invites experienced examiners and moderators to submit curriculum vitaes for purposes of conducting OCP Board examinations.
The Professional Board has the power to appoint Examiners and Moderators, as provisioned for in section 15b of the Health Professions Act 56 of 1974.
The examinations conducted in terms of Section 25 of the Health Professions Act 56 of 1974
(Act 56 of 1974) ensures compliance to the minimum standards for the education and training as determined by the Board, allowing only to qualified and competent persons to be registered.
To ensure continuity and capacity in the examinations process, the Board invites registered practitioners to submit a bio-sketch to assist the Board with Examinations, Marking and Moderation, based on the following criteria:
Occupational Therapy Foreign Qualified Board Examination
The criteria to be met include:
- Five (5) years’ experience in academia
- Five (5) years’ experience in teaching and training of professional programmes at higher educational facilities
- Be registered with HPCSA for three (3) years or more
- Be in good standing.
Medical Orthotics And Prosthetics Foreign Qualified Board Examination
The criteria to be an examiner or moderator include:
- Three (3) years’ experience in academia
- Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and training of professional programmes at higher educational facilities
- Be registered with the HPCSA for three (3) years or more
- Be in good standing
Orthopaedic Footwear Technician Board Examination
The criteria to be an examiner include:
- Three (3) years’ experience in academia
- Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and training of professional programmes at higher educational facilities
- Be registered with the HPCSA for three (3) years or more
- Be in good standing
Orthopaedic Footwear Technician Board Examination
The criteria to be a moderator include:
- Five (5) years’ experience in industry as a trainer of students
- Five (5) years’ experience as a full time MOP practitioner
- Eight (8) years’ experience as an Orthopaedic Footwear technician
- Be registered with the HPCSA for five (5) years or more
- Be in good standing
Arts Therapy Foreign Qualified Board Examination
The criteria to be met include:
- Five (5) years’ experience as an Arts Therapist in practice
- Additional experience in academia / teaching and training is preferable but not a prerequisite
- Be registered with the HPCSA for three (3) years or more
- Be in good standing
