The HPCSA would like to take this opportunity to thank all practitioners who have done what is required to enable them to be CPD compliant. Practitioners who are not compliant still have an opportunity to rectify their CPD status. The professional boards have granted a 3-month extension from 1 April to 30 June 2025, during which, non-compliant practitioners are advised to rectify their CPD status.
As indicated in previous communications, all CPD tools and processes have been updated to align with the recently amended CPD rules, inclusive of the change from a 24-month to a 12-month cycle during which, each practitioner is required to be compliant.
All submitted CPD information received, either through a service provider or directly from a practitioner will be processed. There is no need to resubmit repeated enquiries.
Reminder
- The number of CPD points required, applies to a 12-month cycle of CPD programme. For example, if a practitioner is required to annually maintain a minimum of 30 CPD points (25 clinical and 5 ethical), only indicated is required to be CPD compliant.
- Each CPD point is valid for 12 months from the date on which the activity took place.
