The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) continues to strengthen its digital services through the successful enhancement of its Online Portal, making it easier and more convenient for practitioners to access a wide range of self-service functions anytime and from anywhere. We advise on which HPCSA self-service platforms to use depending on your requirements.
The enhanced platform forms part of the ongoing commitment to improving service delivery, streamlining administrative processes and providing practitioners with a secure, modern and user-friendly digital experience.
Since the introduction of the enhanced Online Portal, many practitioners have successfully transitioned to the self-service platform and continue to enjoy seamless access to essential services. However, we have noted that some practitioners are still experiencing difficulties accessing their profiles. In most instances, these challenges occur because practitioners have not yet migrated from the previous portal to the enhanced platform.
Recent enquiries received have primarily related to portal access, including logging in, downloading practitioner cards, updating personal information and resetting or updating login credentials. To assist practitioners and promote uninterrupted access to online services, the HPCSA continues to implement comprehensive communication initiatives aimed at encouraging migration to the enhanced portal and raising awareness of the correct platform to use.
As part of these initiatives, a series of easy-to-follow instructional video guides that provide step-by-step demonstrations on key online processes have been developed. These include annual registration renewal, navigating the Online Portal, downloading practitioner cards, updating personal information and submitting Professional Board Examination applications. These resources are designed to empower practitioners to confidently manage their professional information through the digital self-service platform.
The enhanced Online Portal has been implemented successfully, and the platform continues to perform well. During the current stabilisation phase, the Information Technology technical team remains actively engaged in monitoring and optimising system performance to ensure the platform operates efficiently and to minimise any potential inconvenience to practitioners.
Council is also enhancing the integration between its payment and registration systems. This ongoing improvement will facilitate faster processing and updating of practitioner payment records, contributing to an even more efficient and responsive registration experience.
