Prof Simon Nemutandani appointed as the new AMCOA President

The Association of Medical Councils of Africa (AMCOA) held its 24th Annual General Meeting on 6 October 2022, where the President of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Prof. Simon Nemutandani was officially elected as its new President.

Prof. Nemutandani will serve as the President of both the HPCSA and AMCOA.

AMCOA is a membership organisation with over thirty member countries from all regions of Africa and primarily exists to support Africa’s medical and health regulatory authorities. Through scientific, educational, and collaborative activities, AMCOA strives to promote best practices amongst Africa’s regulatory authorities and to respond to both their current and future needs.

“We wish Prof. Nemutandani all the best and hope he takes AMCOA to greater heights”, said the outgoing President of AMCOA, Dr Kgosi Letlape.
