As a regulatory body with a legislative mandate to protect the public and guide the Emergency Care profession, the Professional Board for Emergency Care emphatically condemns any strike action by Emergency Care Providers.
Emergency Care Providers are reminded that emergency care is an essential service and therefore, it is not permissible for Emergency Care Providers to participate in any strike action. The Professional Board for Emergency Care views this as a very serious offence and Emergency Care Providers involved in strike action will face charges of unprofessional and unethical conduct.
The Board condemns any action, that would through neglect, put the lives of the citizens of South Africa at risk.
