The HPCSA off-site and renewal of registrations began on 1 March and will continue until 4 May 2016. The aim is to ensure that registration of practitioners is renewed timeously and that practising cards are issued on time.
The following payment options are available:
- Electronic fund transfer (EFT) should be done three (3) days prior to the date of the off-site renewal of registration, as payment should reflect in the HPCSA account before the practising card can be issued.
- Direct ABSA bank deposit should be processed a day before the off-site renewal of registrations as payment should reflect in the HPCSA account before the practising card can be renewed.
- There will be a cashier on site who will accept debit/credit card payments.
The HPCSA does not accept cash, cheques and postal orders. The off-site renewal of registration will provide all services including cashier payments, except for the following:
- Specialist registrations. The exclusion is for first-time specialist registrations; these are practitioners not registered with the Council as specialists and who would like to apply for such a registration. These applications will have to be sent to the Pretoria office as the credentials would have to be verified by the Postgraduate Education and Training Committee prior to registration. Therefore, the specialist registration takes three weeks to process.
- Certificate of status
- Intern duty certificates
- Foreign qualified registrations
- Verification of medical report
- Verification of credentials
International students who qualified in South Africa will be assisted as long as they meet all the requirements. These include the correct endorsement letter from the Foreign Workforce Management Programme of the National Department of Health and a valid job offer.
The HPCSA will issue practising cards immediately after payment has been processed to those practitioners who visit the off-site renewal of registration offices, as well as those who make payment at the Pretoria office.
The bulk printing of practising cards will take place in May 2016 after the completion of the offsite renewals of registrations.
The HPCSA calls on practitioners to visit off-site renewal centres. For more information on the schedule for these off-site registration renewals, please visit the HPCSA website or see below for a list of the nearest registration site – click on province below.
