Keeping your HPCSA registration active is an essential professional and legal requirement. Practitioners are reminded to ensure that their 2026/27 annual fees are paid by the prescribed deadline to avoid penalties and possible suspension from the register.
The HPCSA has published the 2026/27 annual fees in terms of section 62(1) of the Health Professions Act, 56 of 1974, under Government Notices R. 2281 and R. 2283 of December 1976.
Practitioners are reminded to use their HPCSA registration number as the payment reference to ensure that payments are correctly allocated.
Why is it important to pay on time?
Failure to pay annual fees within the prescribed period may result in suspension from the HPCSA register. A practitioner whose registration has been suspended may not lawfully practise in the relevant health profession.
Maintaining an active HPCSA registration is important for:
- Continuing to practise lawfully;
- Meeting professional and employment requirements;
- Operating a private practice, where applicable;
- Verification of professional registration by employers, institutions and members of the public; and
- Accessing services linked to active registration, including practitioner cards.

Practitioners are encouraged to complete the renewal process timeously and to ensure that payment has been successfully reflected and allocated on the HPCSA system. Practitioner cards generally become accessible once payment has been successfully reflected and the funds have been allocated.
Deadline for HPCSA Annual Fees Payment
Registered health practitioners who have not paid their annual fees by 30 September 2026 may be suspended from the HPCSA register.
To avoid suspension, log in to the HPCSA Online Portal, access your invoice and make payment before the deadline.
