The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) will hold the first-ever HPCSA National Conference from 18 – 21 August 2019 at the Emperor’s Palace, in Ekhurhuleni, Gauteng
The HPCSA National Conference 2019, is pitched at an international level and is targeted at the following stakeholders:
• Health practitioners (including students)
• Other health regulatory bodies in South Africa and abroad
• The health industry
• Opinion leaders
The Conference will be used as a platform to further create awareness and educate stakeholders on the role and mandate of the HPCSA, as well as receive valuable inputs and engagement on the future role of Council. The Conference will feature both local and renowned international speakers within the healthcare industry.
It is important to state that the HPCSA has been engaging its stakeholders through a number of platforms, such as Roadshows and Symposia, but has not engaged stakeholders in a Conference environment and hence the importance of hosting this Conference. The Conference will further be used to rebrand the HPCSA as one of the leading regulators as well as an authoritative source within the healthcare regulatory environment in the country and internationally. The Conference will also be used to showcase the HPCSA’s achievements in executing its mandate.
There have been a number of emerging trends within the healthcare environment such as innovation, technological advancement, shortage of resources, financial viability and others. It is envisaged that the Conference will provide practical solutions to these and other challenges faced by healthcare practitioners. In general, the HPCSA National Conference will serve as a “meeting of minds”, at the same time providing a networking environment for healthcare practitioners across the globe.
